Acne Skin Care Regimen for Oily Skin

If you have overactive sebaceous glands, either because it is your natural skin type or you have overactive hormones, you end up with having blackheads, a buildup of oil on the skin producing a dull texture, and overly large pores. Skin care products that can strip away the moisture from the skin should be avoided to prevent the skin from drying up, and clogging pores and sebum underneath it.

An oil-free moisturizer is best to keep the hydration of the top layer of skin and to counter the drying effects of acne treatments. A mild exfoliating scrub is recommended to remove the dull residue on the skin, although it should be avoided during acne breakouts. Scrubbing, cleaning and handling of the skin should be done gently to avoid stimulation of sebum production which can cause further complications.

Is this your skin type? Print out your personalized checklist to guide you in your own skin care regimen.
